Yesterday a good friend of mine asked me if I have landed back to Jersey yet??
Well, I have to admit probably not… this November’s speaking tour has been for sure one I won’t forget for a while…
It started with flying with Emirate, which I hadn’t flown with before, from the attention to details of the flight attendant team to the comfort of the seat and quality of the food, nothing was too much trouble. A quick connection in Dubai airport, which blew my mind, and since have added Dubai to my ‘must come back’ list especially with Expo 2020, this is something I would love to be part of!
Arriving in Kuala Lumpur, I was welcome by my friend Kirshz, who stopped everything to take me for a little tour around KL, trying out some local food and of course, a taste of KL with my discovery of Durian… it was very slow going in and very quick coming out!! Can you see what I mean??
I went to sleep pretty early to be ready for the first day of CX Summit organised by CCAM (Contact Center Association of Malaysia). The scene was set, the conference room at the Sheraton KL, looked very impressive, we managed to do a quick rehearsal and we were ready to rock’n roll.
Officiated by The Honorable Minister of Communications & Multimedia; The Summit went into hyper-drive of everything & everything about customer experience – from people to technology that lives it up in this IR4.0/Digital era. Content was KING and coupled with high-quality delegate participation, the end result was outstanding. With International and local speakers, 28 topics and 15 showcase solutions; this year’s CX Summit had a record-setting 450 delegates to engage, elevate, excel in CX conversations. A massive thank you and congratulation to Vigneswaran Sivalingam who was the Organizing-Chairperson, and brought together an incredible line up of speakers. The audience was absolutely fantastic so engaged and loving the content delivered by all of the speakers, I got a real buzz from everyone, I do think that my yellow shoes made more of an impact that me! Hehehe….

Then, I was off to Manila, from the exceptional service received by Emirate to the complete ignorance and apathetic attitude of Air Asia, I am not one to name and shame but on that one, I won’t be booking that airline again for a long time!
Back for my third visit in Manila this year, I had the pleasure to work with the ladies from Harem Group for their part 2 CX training, it’s so rewarding to be working with teams who genuinely want to learn, improve and grow to deliver even better CX, and those ladies, led by Tab Abad-Estacion, are definitely going in the right direction.
I also had the impromptu opportunity to be invited by my new speaking friend, Scott Friedman to join him at the Mabuhay Awards, wow, what a fantastic celebration of Hospitality’s employees, it was full of cheering, clapping and celebrating excellence, I absolutely loved it. We must take more time to celebrate employees, making them feel valued and keeping them engaged.
The third part of my tour, travelling with Singapore Airline, which was a good experience, a very busy, busy flight with attendance looking stunning in their Pierre Balmain uniform, kept smiling and being of service despite the demands from rude customers. ‘Chapeau’ to the whole team!
After leaving in the hustle and bustle of Mumbai airport, a late arrival at the Taj Lands End, which connected all my senses from the moment I walked through the doors. Welcomed by a gift of a local necklace and was applied a dot of red turmeric powder on my forehead, I was shown to my room. The room, compare to the rest of the hotel, had a very strong smell of cigarette, which I couldn’t stand really. A phone call to reception and within minutes, a porter was back up to take me to another room. Wow, now I felt I had checked in, the colonial feel of the room, the comfort of the bed, the delightful bathroom with fluffy towels, and of course the stunning view of the Arabian Sea, wow!
Up early to meet with the World
Marketing Congress & CMO Asia organisors’ Aalok Pandit and Dr Bahtia. The conference
room was stunning and ready for this 2 days’ congress, I was honoured to be the

filled with inspiring, insightful content, together with award and recognise

The end of my trip finished with a couple of days with my Franchisee, Aarti, The Busy Queen Bee Mumbai, meeting with potential clients, some training, some 2020 planning and a little visit to the Elephanta Caves in Maharashtra, a UNESCO world heritage site with a collection of cave temples dedicated to the Hindu God Shiva.
This trip has really awaken me on all levels, from being on stage and sharing my message to audiences who were so engaged and excited to learn more, to trying local food, discovering Asian’s traditions and culture. Connecting with others speakers, attendees was a real highlight and want some more… I feel as if I am in a bottle of coke, buzzing, excited and ready to explore more opportunities in 2020.
