BQB’s Diary – 10 years in 10 weeks: 2013 The Adventures

The year started with a bit of an adventure, my client the FS Group, which includes Jersey Pearl, Isle of Wight Pearl, Cornwall Gold and Tenerife Perla, had asked me to go around all of the venues to do some mystery shopping visits and market research, so off I went, hiring a car and driving around the Isle of Wight, the Cornish county and a few days in Tenerife. It was an amazing trip to get to know all of those venues and seeing the differences between them and feeding back the information to improve their service delivery as a group. Such a progressive approach to really understand what is happening and to ensure the brand is consistent throughout the group.

Following on from my conversation with Rachel Elnaugh last year and my search for learning more about Feng Shui, I came across Davina MacKail, who has been practicing Feng Shui for decades and who became my coach. Our conversations were always so inspiring and from those, The Busy Queen Bee was created. We worked together on the rebrand, the story behind the bee, the brand colours and what it represents, the refocus on my core services and what I wanted to achieve. It was a transforming year for the business, as BQB was finally born. Read more about the Why Busy Queen Bee here

Another trip took 10 of my girlfriends and I to New York, where we celebrated my 40th birthday. I always had wanted to go there and oh boy, I wasn’t disappointed, New York is incredible and we had a trip to remember…

We finally finished the year with a new event, following a conversation with Simon Crowcroft, the Connetable of St Helier, we decided to celebrate the amazing efforts from our town centre shops and by launching ‘The Christmas Window competition’. We had such a great response from the locals were voting for their favorite Christmas windows; small, medium and large and Voisins was the winner of the large window, and actually has won every year since…
