I remember it so clearly, February 2009, we went to Gran Canaria to celebrate one of my friends 40’s birthday. I woke up early that morning and went for a walk, my head was spinning and I knew I had to change my life for the better but what, how, where, when I suddenly had that moment, you know that Aha moment!

At the time, I was getting divorce and was working at L’Horizon Hotel & Spa in Jersey, working silly hours with my two children 6 and 10 then being looked after by an ‘au pair’. We had monthly mystery guest visits from a UK company and I realised there was a gap in the market for a similar service with local knowledge. This really got me excited me and gave me the impetus to leave my secure job to pursue this idea. I sold my house, and was lucky to find a similar house in the exact same residential area; I remember moving the whole house on my son’s skateboard… one way to get your energy going!! Once the move was done, I used the profit to set up on my own in September 2009.

And so, the next chapter of my life began…

Starting a business during a recession was a notably bold move; a mad move perhaps, as many people suggested, ‘Claire don’t do it, it is such a bad time’. However, it is often during such times of adversity that successful businesses rise; especially when they are devoted to helping enterprises to improve their customer service. Indeed, I were certain that it was perfect timing to establish a customer focus business during a period of time when, looking after and retaining your customers was especially vital and, frankly, more important than ever.

The vision of the business has always been to help businesses to thrive and grow their profitability by providing an exceptional customer experiences because I always thought, if the local businesses thrive, so will the local economy.

The company back then was called ‘Claire Boscq-Scott 4 Star Services’, my ‘4 Star Services’ were Event Planning, Wedding planning, Mystery Shopping and Customer Service training….
